The Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution (TEMPO) mission observes air quality over North America with more detail than ever before by providing a revolutionary new dataset of atmospheric composition measurements from space. TEMPO, launched in April 2023, is the first space-based instrument to monitor air quality across the North American continent every daylight hour at high spatial resolution. TEMPO is a collaboration between the Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory and NASA.
This year the annual TEMPO DART Team Meeting is scheduled June 15-18, 2026, at the University of Iowa. The meeting features the new TEMPO team name: TEMPO Data, Applications, Research, and Technology (DART) Team which reflects the evolution of NASA’s Earth Mission Science Teams with NASA’s new Multisource Integrated Observatory; the team was formerly known as the TEMPO Science and Application Team. The TEMPO DART Team Meeting is open to invited TEMPO instrument teams, scientists, stakeholders, management and mission planners.
Invited participants to the 2026 TEMPO DART Team Meeting must RSVP in advance for either online or in-person attendance using the form below. In person registration has now closed. Those registering for in-person attendance after April 28th will be waitlisted and notified if space is available. Last day to RSVP for virtual attendance is June 10th.
This meeting will be hybrid, however in-person attendance is strongly encouraged.
NASA participants: Do not enter this meeting into NCTS (NASA Conference Tracking System) or SCTMS (Science Conference and Travel Management System). See footnote for more detail.
The summer 2026 meeting will comprise four days, Monday-Thursday, June 15-18. A detailed agenda is posted below, containing information for all four days, the poster list, and an agenda overview. Please note, this is subject to change.
Posters will be in-person only. Poster boards are 40 in. x 72 in. in diameter. All posters will be viewable at both the Tuesday and Wednesday Poster Sessions.
Two optional tours are being offered during the meeting:
- Wednesday, June 17 Iowa Spaceflight Laboratory Tour at Van Allen Hall
- Thursday, June 18 Operator Performance Laboratory Tour at Iowa City Airport (transport provided)
Space is limited, please sign up here.
An invitation containing the hybrid meeting link and presentation/poster upload link will be sent via email. If you have RSVP’d and have not recieved this invitation, please contact tg-meeting-support@espo.nasa.gov.
